Ad Campaign: Donbros 1972
I love the idea of the Donbros Girl Club. This particular advertisement entitles the reader to a reduced price eye shadow (75p reduced to 40p!) by Gala of London. Simply purchase your Dunbros Girl Club spring outfit, complete the coupon and send it with your ticket to claim your eyeshadows, specially matched to the Donbros* Girl Club Knock about knits. Cool!
Scanned from Petticoat magazine, April 1972.

* I’ve found very little information about Dunbros. They were formerly known as Donaldson Brothers, a knitwear manufacturer based in Alloa, Scotland. The company was established in 1937 and specialised in ladies’ knitted outerwear, sweaters, bed jackets, infants’ shawls, hosiery, and all kinds of knitted fabrics.

I think they did a great job of transitioning from shawls and bed jackets to the latest hip thing. That middle outfit is exactly what I was wearing in 1972!
They did indeed. I’m in love with the striped trousers and crop top.
