Spring Fever 1972
Petticoat magazine took to the Welsh hills to showcase this cool range of jackets and pants. Notice the abundance of shorter length jackets from this editorial dated January 1972. Women were also beginning to wear trousers more often and for all sorts of occasions too.

* Peter Robinson was relaunched as Topshop in the mid-1960s. Topshop became the company’s home of young, modern ladieswear, a role it continues to hold. The Topshop launch began with Topshop-branded departments within Peter Robinson stores in 1964, with the first standalone Topshop stores opening ten years later in 1974. Eventually the Peter Robinson name was dropped altogether.

1972 was the first year girls were permitted to wear pants at my school. I was a junior in high school. We loved outfits like these.
