Vintage Blouse from Kendal Milne c.1960s
I’ve just listed a fabulous vintage blouse in my eBay shop and wanted to showcase it here. One of the things I love most about dealing in vintage fashion is researching an unfamiliar label, so I was delighted to come across this one . . . .
Several weeks ago I found a couple of gorgeous illustrations by Barbara Pearlman for Stoffels fabric, Switzerland. They both came from British magazine ‘FASHION‘ and date late 1960s. As soon as I got hold of this blouse I could feel the quality. Not only is it beautifully made but the fabric is superb too. And of course, as soon as I saw the Stoffels label, the vintage illustrations (see below) came to mind. The blouse was made in Switzerland for Kendal Milne using Stoffels fabric.
Kendal Milne, Manchester is the oldest department store in the UK originating in 1836. The name changed to House of Fraser in 2005 although it is still fondly referred to (by us locals) as Kendal’s. And here is the blouse . . . .

Isn’t it amazing what we can learn from an old ad? I love stuff like this!
Me too! Thanks Lizzie.
